Sunday Post #2: The One With the Calm Week

This week has been a calm one in comparison to last week. I did accomplish quite a bit in terms of content (both that went live and is queued up for the week to come) and my anxiety was, thankfully, near non-existent. The rest of my free-time was spent continuing my rewatch of Pretty Little Liars (before it's off Netflix!) and prepping for Pride.

As for Pride, I'm probably at it right as this post goes live! Which is very exciting. The only bad thing about Chicago's Pride Parade is that it's at the VERY end of Pride Month and on a Sunday at noon. I know, I know, what a mundane thing to get picky about but like... SUNDAY? Totally worth it. Still, Sunday's are usually my wind-down-veg-out days.

You guys will be proud to know that I didn't buy ANY books this week. As opposed to my near hoarding haul from last week. I was sent a couple of titles for blog tour preparations and Disney granted one of my OVER A YEAR OLD WISHES on NetGalley which was a surprise. Also, kind of unfortunate, since I already read the book--the finished copy--last year. Sigh. I'm thankful and am just going to reread it so I can read the sequel in question, which I just checked out from the library.

That being said, this week seems like a bit of a time warp for me. I've been like, wait, what year is it?

All week, it's been like this--between seeing old friends from high school on my social media feed (some of my friends have their ten year reunion this year, which would be my graduating class originally but I actually graduated in between semesters in January 2010 so my class is technically 2010) and The Hills being back on MTV, I'm a little confused by it being 2019 and not 2009.

 The titles above were sent to me in exchange for my participation in the upcoming blog tour. The Poppy War's new paperback cover and its upcoming sequel, The Dragon Republic! Needless to say: get excited! IT'S HAPPENING! And I'm super excited to take these books out for a photo journal shoot.

   

The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton. I did already read The Belles last spring or summer (I can't remember when exactly) and "wished" for it on NetGalley a few months before that. I was a bit confused on why they granted my wish over a year later but still it made me smile a bit! And, obviously, this means a reread is a necessity. I requested a few other books on NetGalley for the first time in ages, so I have three on my shelves there and I think two more pending.
