The Voting Booth is Basically the Perfect YA Contemporary | Review: The Voting Booth by Brandy Colbert
7:00 AM
Filed under: books I cannot stop thinking about. Or grinning over. Or attempting to shove down people's throats. (Er, okay, I wouldn't do that to a book. I AM, HOWEVER, BUYING COPIES TO PUT IN SOME LITTLE FREE LIBRARIES BECAUSE I HAVE NO CONTROL. All caps.

Breathtakingly Honest and Painful | Review: What Unbreakable Looks Like by Kate McLaughlin
12:00 AM
What Unbreakable Looks Like tackles some seriously heavy topics and, as always, I encourage you to look into its content to avoid triggering any unwanted reactions/emotions. That being said: wow, this book is a force to be reckoned with.

Sweet, Relatable and Highly Entertaining | Review: It Sounded Better in My Head by Nina Kenwood
7:30 AMMe being the shallow gal that I am, I definitely "knew" I "needed" to read It Sounded Better in My Head when I saw the cover. Oops! (Look, sometimes it pays to be shallow. It does here because this book was super fun.)

Love on Lexington Avenue is SO SOFT and Fun | Review: Love on Lexington Avenue by Lauren Layne
7:30 AM
The second installment of Lauren Layne's Central Park Pact series is just as light, fun and romantic as the first! Love on Lexington Avenue is so heart warming and I'm officially soft.

Did I want to join in on the fun of celebrating Kind of Famous' release because of its cover and the fact that the main character's last name is Beckett? (Aka, MY last name?) AND because she ran a fan site for her favourite band, like I did circa 2003-2008? YEP. Also, it sounds like SO much fun and I definitely need it in my life.
It's time to get serious and have a good look at how we present ourselves. And how we really are. Look is a can't-miss gem of a novel that you desperately need to be reading.

Fun from the Start--A True Delight | Blog Tour: Finding Mr. Better-Than-You by Shani Petroff
7:30 AM
Who can resist such a pretty cover, with such a snarky title? Not me! It screamed total feel good novel. Finding Mr. Better-Than-You was truly THAT book. And I loved it.
Meet cute? More like Tweet Cute. (Pause for dramatic, dad joke effect.) I'm SORRY, I couldn't resist, okay?
How to Speak Boy is definitely what I've been craving in YA contemporary! Pure fun. Pure entertainment. Pure hate-to-love excellence. (Also, shout out to blogger for letting me schedule posts BUT NOT ACTUALLY POSTING THEM WHEN THEY WERE ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED?)
One day... I will find a Kasie West book that 100% works for me. She has such an endearingly sweet prose. But Maybe This Time wasn't my cup of tea.

There are some trigger warnings I'd like to point out before you explore today's Alee feature! This YA contemporary tackles issues such as mass shootings and will likely discuss the complexities of grief, decisions we are prone to make when we are at lower points, slut shaming and more.
