Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Meant to Read in 2018, But Didn't Get to (#26)

11:05 PM

Me: *reads well over 100 books in 2018*
Also me: YEAH, GREAT, BUT DID YOU READ *lists 400 more books*

Okay, okay, so here's the thing about me: I'm never quite satisfied with anything ever. So, going down this slope was a little complicated for me because (a) I love to critic myself (but will definitely claw someone's eyes out if they do the same to themselves or if someone offers me unsolicited criticism) and 100% am BAD about it and this gives me free rein to do so and (b) THERE WERE SO MANY BOOKS RELEASED IN 2018 THAT I WANTED TO READ BUT DIDN'T HAVE THE TIME, AH!

In short, there were quite a few books that I didn't get to. Because I suck there just aren't enough hours in a day.

While I did accomplish a lot, I feel like I could have accomplished a lot more if we extended the year by even a few extra hours. Who's gonna make that happen?! (Who let me ONLINE?!)

Here are the top ten books that I meant to read in 2018 but didn't get to for one reason or another. Deep breaths, guys, deep breaths. The first one is a doozy. I'm so disappointed in myself for how long it's taking me to read it!

ALWAYS NEVER YOURS by Emily Wibberley

Seventeen-year-old Megan Harper is about due for her next sweeping romance. It's inevitable—each of her relationships starts with the perfect guy and ends with him falling in love . . . with someone else. But instead of feeling sorry for herself, Megan focuses on pursuing her next fling, directing theater, and fulfilling her dream college's acting requirement in the smallest role possible.

So when she’s cast as Juliet (yes, that Juliet) in her high school’s production, it’s a complete nightmare. Megan’s not an actress, and she’s used to being upstaged—both in and out of the theater. In fact, with her mom off in Texas and her dad remarried and on to baby #2 with his new wife, Megan worries that, just like her exes, her family is moving on without her.

Then she meets Owen Okita, an aspiring playwright inspired by Rosaline from Shakespeare's R+J. A character who, like Megan, knows a thing or two about short-lived relationships. Megan agrees to help Owen with his play in exchange for help catching the eye of a sexy stagehand/potential new boyfriend.
