The Weakest Link in an Otherwise Incredibly Set of Novellas | Kalona's Fall by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast
5:30 AM
Ugh, I wanted to enjoy Kalona's Fall WAY more than I did. Alas, it just didn't connect with me as well as the others in the series.

A Captivating Novella for an Impressive Character | Lenobia's Vow by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast
6:20 PM
Oh, I adored Lenobia's Vow. Lenobia is probably my favourite *minor* adult character of the House of Night series.

Dragon and Anastasia's Spellbinding Romance Will Break Your Heart | Review: Dragon's Oath by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast

Did... I just become more of a Dragon Lankford fan? DO I LIKE DRAGON NOW? (Undecided. Maybe? Possibly? Probably?)

Blogtober (#26) | Blog Tour, Playlist, Favourite Quotes, Giveaway + Review: Forgotten (House of Night Other World, #3) by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast
6:30 AM
I. AM. OBSESSED. (Again? Still?) My year of House of Night goodness (I've finished rereading the original series and am officially caught up on this new spin-off) continues with the gorgeously crafted third installment of House of Night Other World: Forgotten. Spoiler alert! If you thought Loved and Lost were brilliant, Forgotten is just as good.

Hands Down, the Best House of Night Novel Yet | Review: Lost by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast
7:00 AM
Not only is Lost one of the longest books in the House of Night/House of Night Other World series, it is one of THE best installments. And by one of the best, I mean THE best installment so far.
The Nerd Herd rides again! And is truly better than ever. No, seriously. I know my feelings during my reread have been all over the place about House of Night, but this first installment of House of Night: Other World, Loved, is honestly my favourite in the House of Night world so far. I definitely loved Loved.
Warning: this review includes spoilers to the original series as well as Loved.

Blogtober (#23) | House of Night Reread: Tempted by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast
6:30 AM
Onto Tempted! Aka, the one House of Night novel that might have shattered my soul a little bit. I mean, it only sent me on a mild sad streak back in the day. No joke, I was four seconds away from writing some angry fan-mail. Fortunately, my common sense kicked in and I remember it was definitely a fictional novel.
The good news is that the only cringe worthy thing about Hunted is its synopsis. Well, okay, fine, there are a couple of other things, but nothing as painful as it was in prior installments and definitely not as cringey as the blurb for this! I'm so sorry, but hoo boy that is SO not eye-catching and super cheesy and I am definitely suffering from secondhand embarrassment. In case the bold lettering wasn't clear.
Despite the cringe, I'm still feeling head-over-heels and hyped beyond belief over my reread of the entire House of Night series. I love the magic and mythology. And, of course, a lot of these characters. How could I not? They were some of the ones I grew up with, quite literally.
While I've already stressed the fact that I feel VERY differently toward a good chunk of it as an adult, it's still something that I've got a world of fondness towards.

Blogtober (#13) | House of Night Reread: Chosen + Kristin Cast Used One of My Bookstagram Photos On Her Page and I Nearly Fainted
7:30 AM
Hoo, boy! I'm flying by in this series. It may not seem like it based on how long it's taken me to make my reread posts. By the time this goes live, I'll likely be on book six. It's taken me a bit of time to get these posts presentable which is why this is only the third one yet. I KNOW, I KNOW. It's just been a weird month and other things. (Not bad weird. Just weird. And I've got some serious writer's block just in time or Blogtober. Go, team, go!)
And this is mostly because my thought process is intensely incoherent and I like to make sure my posts are only moderately so. (Insert wildly laughing emoji here.) Which means I'M VERY SLOW AND IT STINKS. It's fine!!!! We're fine!!! I swear, I'm going to pull myself together soon. Hopefully. Possibly. Probably.
Also, as you can see in the title, Kristin Cast used one of my Instagram pictures on her Instagram and I had a mini meltdown over it because, okay, HOW? (Seventeen year old me is 100% losing her mind over this.) Which was the cherry on top of a (again, NOT BAD) weird week, during this very weird month.

House of Night Reread | Betrayed by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast + Planned Television Adaptation
10:00 AM
Just in time for the announcement that the team behind Shadowhunters is adapting the House of Night series for television! Between this announcement and the reveal of the Shadow and Bone cast, this week has been BUSY for page to screen news. I'm hopeful about the television series. It has the potential to work really well, if done correctly--it, too, has the chance to fix some of the books flaws and I'm kind of excited! I just hope that it doesn't end up on Freeform, given their nasty track record of being a disaster network.
(I am already worried about what they might do to The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I can only handle stressing out about one adaptation, universe! And that's an all-time, never ending, favourite. So.)
But back to the real topic at hand! It's time to discuss my reread of the second House of Night novel, Betrayed. Which, in my opinion, was infinitely better (and somehow more addictive?) than Marked. This time around I was unable to look away (no joke, I ended up "accidentally" reading it all before going to bed one night) and, before you ask, yes, thankfully the use of slut shaming was lessened in Betrayed. Not by much, but still a lot better!
