The explosive conclusion to House of Night Other World is finally here. AND I'M SO SAD ABOUT IT? In an excited, feeling revitalized, way? It's time to get Found.

Fog rolls into Tulsa, and with it comes Darkness. Zoey knows something is up, and that the something involves Neferet, but Neferet can't possibly be freed, right?

Other Neferet and her companion, Lynette, arrive in Woodward Park to set this world's Neferet free from her grotto prison, and discover there may be those who sympathize with their cause. Meanwhile, Other Kevin and Other Stark are hot on their trail, but how can the new friends travel to this world without invoking Old Magick and paying a costly, perhaps deadly, price?

In 'FOUND', the culmination of the House of Night Other World series, a surprisingly talented fledgling, an immortal, and the unlikeliest of allies will band together with Zoey and the Nerd Herd. Will they be powerful enough to defeat her old nemesis, or will two worlds be destroyed and claimed by Darkness? Find out in the thrilling conclusion to the House of Night Other World series!

Once again, Spotify won't let me put the playlist in my post. No matter how much I fix up the code! Alas, you'll have to go straight to my page here to listen.

Rating: ★★★
As always, a copy of this book was provided by the author or publisher in exchange for my honest review. This does not effect my opinion in any way.

"I can feel the seduction of it, the pull of it. Being in control means that no one will ever have the opportunity to hurt me or anyone I love--and what better control than to become a goddess?" Neferet sighed. "But witnessing what that creature has become shook me to my core and made me realize that I cannot allow myself to be such a wh*re (reviewer note: ugh I hate the use of this word) to power that I sell my soul to achieve it. I have power. I have wealth. And, with you, I now have a family."

If you had told me ten years ago that House of Night would still be alive, and well, continuing in a spin-off titled House of Night Other World I wouldn't have believed you. And, if we're being honest, I would have believed you even less that it was ions better than the original series and that I'd still be actively following it.

Yet, here we are! And I'm amazed.

Found solidified one fact and one fact alone: I have no regrets over picking up on this series. I mean, the spin-off is truly worlds apart (in more ways that one) from the original House of Night novels. Looking back to the original series, starting at Marked, and quickly glancing over at Loved really makes me do a double take. Everything has developed in such beautifully unexpected ways. House of Night will always be special to me, but House of Night Other World is a whole different fraction of my heart.

My only complaint, in the conclusion, is how little we see the Nerd Herd in Found. (For starters, I missed the presence of our Shaunee and while I was stoked to see other Shaunee I was really hoping we'd have one last glimpse at the original squad.) But, really, it doesn't define the story's worth to me.

But, back to the review: I love this book. I love this series. I love these characters and the nostalgia that their mere mentions bring me. And, yes. Seriously: I love it SO much more than House of Night. 2020 has been a rough one, and feels almost like being indoors due to the pandemic has reverted me back into a high schooler (sans the angst and daydreams) but Found kind of... put me back in my right state of mind. I'm grateful for it.

With love, family, plot-twists, mistakes, closure and redemption arcs, you can't go wrong with Found.

Found picks up fairly quickly after the events of Forgotten. Just as the series has already proven, the many plot-twists and outcomes provide readers with endless possibilities. You never truly know what could happen. (Although, the foreshadowing is there.) The crossing from one parallel universe to a next is, as always, my favourite part of House of Night Other World with the dynamics between the main characters being the next best thing.

Namely? The relationship between (other) Neferet and Lynette. These two, once again, steal the show entirely and I'm going to need a spin-off IMMEDIATELY. (Especially after that ending. Which I am NOT going to spoil for you guys. But. Like. My heart.)

As for close seconds, I, once more, adored the bond that has formed between our Zoey and other Kevin. It's interesting how close these siblings have become, despite not *really* being each other's siblings/being their *real* siblings other world counterparts. Their relationship is so pure and honestly, it is always so jolting knowing that they aren't each other's Kevin and Zoey... while being each other's Kevin and Zoey.

(I know, I know, that was babble-city and made little sense but deal with it. I'm sorry!)

Ultimately, Found is one of the best novels of the year. While so many stories, and series, struggle to chug along with added installments and spin-offs, House of Night Other World never struggled with it. In-fact, Found has echoed in my mind for weeks after finishing and left me feeling as though there were still stories to tell set within the world. I laughed, I swooned, I cried and I cheered--Found made me feel so much.

It was the perfect end to this particular saga and I feel exactly as I should: like I've just said goodbye to a dear, dear friend.
