Okay so, Finding Christmas was an absolute delight. Does that capture your attention? Maybe? Okay. How about... it was written by the woman that created Netflix's holiday film A Christmas Prince. Do I have your attention, now?

About Finding Christmas

• Paperback: 384 pages
• Publisher: William Morrow Paperbacks (October 15, 2019)
With all the glittering decorations, twinkling lights, snow angels, gingerbread men and mistletoe, Christmas is Emmie’s first love.
This year, she can’t wait to share her favorite Christmas traditions with her boyfriend, Grant. She thinks he’s “the one.” So when Grant’s hectic work schedule has him more “Bah Humbug” than “Ho, Ho, Ho,” Emmie creates a holiday-themed scavenger hunt to help him find his Christmas spirit. At the end of the journey, Grant will arrive at the charming town of Christmas Point where she’s planned a romantic weekend filled with holiday activities.
But Emmie’s plan backfires when a mix-up has the wrong guy following her clues! Sam, a best-selling mystery writer, thinks Emmie’s clever Christmas riddles are from his agent, who is trying to help him get over his epic writer’s block.
When he arrives at Christmas Point and finds the stunned Emmie, he immediately feels she’s someone special, but she can’t see beyond the fact that the wrong guy has shown up. Inspired by the small, charming town, Sam decides to stay and convinces Emmie to join him in a little holiday fun while she waits for Grant.
When Grant finally shows up, Emmie is disappointed to discover he’s not enjoying the activities she planned and can’t help wonder if he’s really the one for her. She also can’t get Sam out of her mind and all the great times they had together. With Christmas coming fast, Emmie will need the magic of the season to help steer her in the direction of true love…

Finding Christmas by Karen Schaler
Rating: ★★★★☆

As always, a copy of this book was provided by the publisher or author in exchange for my honest review. This does not effect my opinion in any way.

Well, well, well. It's nearing the end of October and your girl has read not one, but THREE Christmas based books.

Listen, it doesn't totally count as too early if I'm sent the books. Just go with it, okay? Please? Pretty please with gingerbread and twinkling fairy lights on top? In all sincerity, Finding Christmas was my personal favourite of what I've read thus far and it put me in SUCH a good mood after finishing it. This cheerful gem of a novel truly charmed me and left me feeling the utmost warm and fuzzies. It was an experience that felt not unlike a classically sweet holiday film.

I am a sucker for holiday based stories and Finding Christmas is one of my most favourite in recent memories. It just feels like the holiday: romantic, hopeful, joyous and sweet, with just a hint of past struggles and a bit of moving forward. It, too, plays a great deal into the idea of fate. Not only is it fluffy and sweet, with just the right amount of emotional depth, the novel is beautifully written with characters that stand out.

(Seriously, I loved Emmie so much.)

You'll want to root for a happy ending.

You will smile and grow smitten with every page.

You'll laugh and fall in love.

If you love Christmas, and that crisp and sparkling feeling it leaves in the air, you're going to adore Finding Christmas. It should come as no surprise that Karen Schaler will leave her audience grinning and maybe even humming Christmas carols to themselves after finishing. And, of course, if you are a fan of those cheesy and delightful Hallmark, Lifetime, Netflix, etc,  holiday films: Finding Christmas should be at the top of your upcoming winter reading list.
