Ensnared by A.G Howard | Rating: ★★★★★
I am wind.
I am fury.
I am pandemonium.
In this vivid conclusion to one of my favorite series, Ensnared captures the brilliance of the two previous books and wraps up the dark fantasy in a way that is sure to satisfy fans of the trilogy. I, for one, don’t have much to complain about except the fact that Splintered is done.
Can you believe it’s nearly over? No more Alyssa? No more Morpheus? No more Jeb? No more of this deliciously dark Wonderland? What?! I really hate to say goodbye! Alas… all good things must come to an end. And never has there been a more fitting end than Ensnared.
By the epilogue, we have our conclusion, we have our answers and we have a memorable ending to an incredibly unique and underrated trilogy. It will tug on your heartstrings, it will make your heart race and leave you twirling in the midst of dark and intriguing plots. Ensnared certainly goes out with a bang.
A.G Howard, once again, blows me away with her hypnotic and slightly creepy take on Wonderland. Not many authors can pull off revisions to a classic work and make it her own, but she has an undeniable style to her writing and characters that makes it so very possible. You can see these images come to life instantly and find yourself unable to put it down.
Ensnared picks up right where Unhinged left off. Fans were left wondering the fate of many of their favorite characters from the cliffhangers and revelations we’d witnessed in the final chapters of Unhinged.
And thankfully, we are lead down a path of answers in a timely fashion as the story continues. A.G Howard wastes no time in exploring and wrapping up plots. She doesn’t sugarcoat things, she doesn’t leave us hanging for long and she certainly doesn’t overdo it. Alyssa is just as believable, strong and loveable as usual — in spite of the circumstances and any confusion and concerns she may have.
It’s been an absolute delight reading through her.
Which leads us to questions…
Where are Morpheus and Jeb? Everyone was left on the edge of their seats when it came to our favorite sassy and good guys fate. Will they survive the dangers that await them? What memories will Alyssa and her father discover? Will they ever be the same? And what of Alyssa’s mother? And of course what will become of Wonderland?
Well…
Your questions will all be answered. Fates will be sealed. More revelations will be placed out for us.
And as always, danger and mystery is just around the corner in Wonderland.
Ensnared is everything you could hope for and more. As far as series finales go, it’s definitely one of the best I’ve read and lives up to the expectations set by Splintered and Unhinged.
It’s memorable. It’s dark. It’s funny. It’s Splintered.
